QUAKE 3 ARENA easy install tutorial

QUAKE 3 ARENA

Thats Right. You can easy install the PC game QUAKE 3 arena on your Nokia N900.
Just follow this simple steps.


1- If you dont have it already you have to enable the Extra-devel repositories in your N900. go HERE to see how.


2- After you have the extra-devel repositories enabled go to the app manager and download and install the ioquake3 program in your N900.
 If you get an error installing and it asks for "Libgles1-sgx-img", it is because you have disabled some of the other repositories, make sure you keep the default ones enabled all the time!!

3- Download  HERE the quake 3 arena .pk3 files. then unrar the files. you shoul became whit a baseq3 folder.

4- conect the N900 to the PC and choose the mass memory.

5- Copy the baseq3 folder that you  have downloaded to the root of the N900. (just open the N900 mass memory and copy there out of any folder).

6- Disconect the N900 from the PC.

7- now open the x-term and type the following:

ls /home/user/.q3a/baseq3/      (press enter)

mv /home/user/MyDocs/baseq3/* /home/user/.q3a/baseq3/ (press enter)

ls /home/user/.q3a/baseq3/      (press enter)

THATS IT!

Everything should now work fine, so just load up Quake 3 and it should work straight away.
(When it asks for the CD Key just press the enter key twice)


Some useful keys:
Fn (Blue Arrow) + Ctrl/Sym = Open/Close console.
Fn + , (Next to backspace) = Esc (aka Menu)
Space = Jump
Ctrl/Sym = Fire
T = Talk (press enter to come out of this)
Fn + 1 = Weapon 1 (2,3,4,5, etc will change to weapon 2,3,4,5,etc)
A = Side step left
D = Side spep right
Up (On direction keys on the right) = move forward (same as tilting phone forward)
Down (on direction keys on the right) = move backwards (same as tilting phone backwards)

You can customise the above commands to how you want in the options i.e. change side step to the direction keys!
